Il capro (The Scapegoat) by Italian Silvia Cassioli is published this October by Il Saggiatore in Italy.
Halfway between true crime and social portrait, Il capro explores a segment of Italian society in the ’70s & ’80s, more specifically a part of Tuscany where local customs and male-dominated perceptions overshadow the investigations into the sderial murders of young couples in the woods around Florence.
Silvia Cassioli (Tuscany, 1971) works as a fiction editor. She made her debut with two books of poetry, El gran magnùn de la Finanza (Manni), a poem in an invented language. Il Capro is her second novel.
